The Sprint Distance Triathlon is a shorter, more accessible format of the sport, making it an excellent entry point for beginners and a fast-paced challenge for experienced athletes. Compared to the Standard or Olympic Distance Triathlon, the Sprint Distance offers a more manageable challenge while still requiring a blend of speed, endurance, and strategy. The typical distances for a Sprint Distance Triathlon are:
Swimming: 750 meters (0.47 miles)
Cycling: 20 kilometers (12.4 miles)
Running: 5 kilometers (3.1 miles)
This format is favoured by those new to triathlons, athletes looking for a quick race, or as part of a more extensive training program for longer distances.
In addition to individual events there's also a Sprint Relay and a Sprint aquabike
